Shake a Tower

Th’Line experiments with humor and imagination, and likes to frolic buffalo-like in the multifaceted pot of dance art. An underlying interest in their work is to problematize the handling of power, and explore intricate topics where it can be difficult to reach agreement.

About

This time, Th’Line brings with them the athletes Martin Lervik and Mats Eldøen. Martin Lervik works as a dance artist based in Brussels, and has worked and toured extensively with choreographers such as Ingri Fiksdal and Mette Ingvartsen. Mats Eldøen is a film and theater actor, and is known for his broad experience in theater sports. He is one of the founders of Det Andre Teatret in Oslo, where he also works as an associate artistic director. In April, all participants in Shake a Tower will meet for the first time, and from then on, anything can happen. At the time of writing, no one has any idea how it will all end, but everyone is looking forward to it. Follow the exciting development on social media.

Th’Line was established in 2006 and is run by dance artists Kristina Søetorp and Ida Wigdel, both educated at the Oslo Academy of the Arts. The company is known for the performance "Near.Far.Wherever You Are" (played at Dansens Hus in the spring of 2013) where they gathered famous and beloved dancers and actors between 26-62 years on the same stage. The company has played at ILTWT during Julidans in Amsterdam, Kulturhuset in Oslo, the music festival Oslofjordfest, Ravnedans and Dansefestival Barents. Th’Line has directed and choreographed the play «Chestvane» for acting students at the Oslo Academy of the Arts, and has choreographed «Lenge Leve Livet» for Oslo Nye Teater. Th’Line has also made several dance films.

Shake a Tower premiered at Dansens Hus (NO) 2016.
