Dandizettes

Dandizettes is a solo created by Ida Wigdel, in collaboration with costume, set and lighting designer Chrisander Brun, together with composer Ådne Meisfjord and artistic caretaker Ludvig Daae.

New laws in London’s 1660’s permitted women to professions in literature, philosophy, architecture and STAGE PERFORMANCE. They could also access traditional male arenas such as bars. Enter the Dandizette: She expresses herself politically or artistically through eccentric and flamboyant behavior preferably late at night with substantial contents of alcohol in her bloodstream. My version of the Dandizette will inspire to wake up the exuberance that every individual has buried within themselves.

The Dandizettes are bloodthirsty beings who embrace the idea of the self without hesitation or second thought. Blood is a fresh product, and provides you with energy in the same way as inspiration, confirmation, creativity and the energy derived from an audience. Dandizettes need you.

Length: 60 minutes
